Third Party Resources

Scripts, fonts, widgets and pixels loaded from domains you do not control.

In practice

Inventory them quarterly; tags accumulate from campaigns long finished and nobody removes them.

Load them after the page is usable, and treat any third party in the critical path as a single point of failure.

Why it matters

They are the most common cause of slow pages that otherwise look well built.

An outage on someone else’s server becomes an outage on yours if it blocks rendering.
