Indexing

Whether a crawled page is actually stored and eligible to appear in results.

Crawled is not indexed. Coverage reports separate the two, and "crawled — currently not indexed" usually means the engine judged the page thin or duplicative.

Before adding pages, check how many existing ones are indexed. Publishing more into an indexing problem makes it worse.

Index coverage is the first honest health check of a site. Everything downstream assumes the page is in there.
